We had two great family get togethers over the past couple of weeks. The first was at Josh's parents house. My cute mother-in-law and sister-in-law had the house all decorated with skeletons, pumpkins, etc. My mother-in-law even dressed up as a witch and my father-in-law as a hot dog! The kids got to do a Halloween craft, we ate pizza and they went trick or treating from room to room at her house. We even got a surprise visit from "Swoop" the U of U mascot! (It was actually a birthday present for my mother-in-law but the kids thought he was there just for them.) After some convincing, we got all of our kids to agree to a family picture with him! Go Utes! Our kids have such a great time being with their cousins. It was a blast!
The second great party we had was at my sister Monica's house. We gathered for a dinner of Dad's famous chili, cornbread, fruit and pumpkin pie. Then, we headed to a "Pumpkinpalooza" party at the Kaysville Botanical Center. They had cute crafts for the kids to make, a pumpkin walk with pumpkins carved by Davis High School students and, unfortunately for me, a snake show. I have an extreme phobia of snakes. I can't even look at one on TV without getting scared. Luke, however, LOVED it! He even held a snake! (Picture to follow.) I'm so thankful I didn't pass my phobia on to my children!
So far, our Halloween festivities have been so much fun! Thanks to both sides of our family for the great spooky celebrations!
